One time they were Scotland's power couple. It's the story of Former Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon and her husband Peter Murrell, 61. Scottish National Party at one point of time became synonymous with the rising profile of the First Couple. After more than five years of investigation, Murrell on May 25, 2026 pleaded guilty to theft of 400,000 pounds to fund lavish lifestyle. Nicola Sturgeon said that she had been unaware of the embezzlement.
